The R. Scott Hitt Internship in Leadership Development
This internship is limited geographically to the United States.
The application for the 2008 R. Scott Hitt Internship in Leadership Development consists of four parts:
- A cover letter which includes:
- All your contact information (home and school)
- Your educational experience, including your most recent degree
- A thorough description of the host organization and its capacity to address the areas of development within your intended curriculum.
- How you learned about the Hitt Foundation internships?
- A 750-800 word essay explaining why you are personally interested in, qualified for, and how you hope to benefit from the internship experience
- Your most recent resume detailing any previous work experience, awards and activities
- The Sponsor Agreement is a detailed description of the curriculum you will be completing while interning at the host institution. The Sponsor Agreement is made between you and a nonprofit organization dedicated in whole, or in part, to the advancement of LGBT equality. This document is an in-depth description where you and your sponsoring organization describe in detail the clearly agreed upon goals of your intended internship. The plan needs to be signed by you and the Executive Director (or their designee) from the sponsoring host institution.
The timetable for the 2008 application process is as follows:

The application should be sent together to the Applicant Review Committee Co-Chairs in either MS Word or PDF format at scotthittfoundation@gmail.com.
A.N.G.L.E. Internship 2008 - CLOSED FOR 2008
This internship is limited geographically to Southern California. This limitation is intended to foster the networking aspect of the internship whereby the Foundation will facilitate interaction between interns to share their individual progress and receive additional specialized skills education and training from local community leaders.
The application for the 2008 A.N.G.L.E. Summer Internship consists of four parts:
- A cover letter which includes:
- All your contact information (home and school)
- Your educational experience and current standing (e.g. sophomore) and major / minor
- A thorough description of the host organization and its capacity to address the areas of development within your intended curriculum.
- How you learned about the Hitt Foundation Internships?
- A 750-800 word essay explaining why you are personally interested in, qualified for, and how you hope to benefit from the internship experience
- Your most recent resume detailing any previous work experience, awards and activities
